With that as the plot line you are not expecting much from Drive Angry 3D, but it had a chance to be a film that was so bad it was actually enjoyable and fun. Well the filmmakers and actors missed the mark so badly that this film was at times so disgusting and so painful to watch that this reviewer would have liked to walk out of the theatre. The film is extremely violent and the amount of violence shown towards women is appalling. Drive Angry 3D is just a waste of time and a waste of money, for every entertaining film done by Nicolas Cage (National Treasure, Adaptation) there are plenty of clunkers (Season of the Witch, Ghost Rider, Sorcerer’s Apprentice) and Drive Angry 3D is the king of the clunkers.
I was looking for one, just one aspect of this film that I could give a little praise. What about the 3D, it’s not bad but it looks as though it was an after thought for most of the visually stagnant film. The acting: NO, the writing: NO, the directing: NO…this movie is just as bad as it can get. Nicolas Cage is joined on screen by William Fitchner, Amber Head, and Billy Burke. Cage manages to show up for a few scenes, Head is just there for her looks as she can’t act, Burke knows how to be angry but that’s about it and Fitchner gives the most effort out of anyone in the cast but even his effort can’t motivate any of his fellow actors who are all just there for the pay day.
What else can I say about Drive Angry 3D, well Nic Cage does drive and he is angry. That about sums up this piece of ineedapaycheck garbage.
