Jack and Jill

I liked Adam Sandler in the 90's.  Happy Gilmore was a funny movie, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't done anything too interesting for at least 5 years. (Unless you enjoy films such as You Don't Mess with the Zohan, or Zookeeper, or Grown-Ups).  In the same vein as his other recent "hits", comes Jack and Jill - a movie written by Sandler, where he plays both Jack and Jill.

Less than five minutes into this movie, I proclaimed that it is going to end up being the worst movie of the year.  After I said it, I briefly wondered if I had been too quick to judge it, and if, perchance, I would have to take back my words later.  It turns out that I am quite the soothsayer, and can see into the future quite well.  If this "film" does not clean house at the Razzies® this year, America has a problem.

The plot is worthless, but here's a brief summary.  Jack is a fancy man who works for a fancy ad agency.  Jill is not fancy, and may be unemployed.  Jill visits Jack for Thanksgiving.  Jack hates this.  One of Jack's clients insists on landing Al Pacino for a silly commercial.  Jack realizes this is difficult.  At one point Al Pacino meets Jill and becomes smitten.  Jill is not interested in Pacino, but is interested in Jack's insultingly stereotypical gardener Felipe.  Jack tells Jill she should take one for the team and hook up with Pacino.  Jill hates this.  Eventually Jack and Jill learn to love each other again.

The writing is terrible.  The acting is awful.  The movie hates Hispanic people. And its basically Adam Sandler making unfunny jokes with himself.  Don't see it.  0 stars.
