There are two candidates running for the seat of Ham Lake Mayor in 2010. They are:
| Kris Manetas |
 |
|
About Me: Hello, I am Kris Manetas, candidate for Mayor of Ham Lake. I have been married 20 years to my husband Jim. We have two daughters, 16 and 17 years old. My family and I have lived in Ham Lake for 11 years. I have worked in the construction industry for over 25 years with a background in civil engineering. Together, my Husband and I own and operate a general contacting company, which we established in 1989.
Important Issues: Our community is at a crossroad. Our current Comprehensive Plan does not allow for growth in our city. More commercial and industrial business would soften the tax burden for all. Many businesses near our Hwy 65 corridor are asking for a sewer and water plan. Future sewer and water for our business community would be paid for by those included and served. We must also protect the individual rights of property owners and maintain a foremost level of Police and Fire protection. As residents of Ham Lake, we can have the best of both worlds: business on and near Hwy 65 and rural character in safe residential areas. Ham Lake needs a plan for the future.

Political Philosophy : I’m Not a Politician, I don’t have a Political Background. I am running for office because I feel it is important for individuals to give back to their community. More specifically, I am running for Mayor of Ham Lake because I believe our city is at a crossroads. We need someone with an open mind and a willingness to listen to the people and how they would like their city to progress. I believe the role of Mayor is to be an advocate for their community. We must listen to our citizens and make the best decisions based upon what the majority of the people want for their city. I believe Ham Lake does need to continue to grow in order for us to be a prosperous community. We need to look toward the future. How do “WE THE PEOPLE” of Ham Lake want to see our city progress? |
