This week, 33-year-old Timothy Boland pleaded guilty to the first degree manslaughter of his brother’s girlfriend, Natasha Waalen. Waalen was found on an Andover road in September of 2008 near her motorcycle, leading to original speculation that she died in a crash. But, she wasn’t wearing any shoes, and her autopsy revealed that she died because of multiple blows to her head, which started a murder investigation.
Boland was originally charged with second-degree intentional murder, but reached a plea agreement with prosecutors for a lesser charge. Tim’s brother, 34-year-old Ryan Boland pled guilty in December to aiding and accomplice. Ryan will be sentenced on March 19th, and Tim will be sentenced on April 21st.
